چکیده
In the COVID-19 aftermath, academia experiences an unprecedented drought of postdoctoral researchers. The new generation scientists refuses to face low odds starting their own labs in a competitive arena that does not align with work–life balance needs. We discuss possible reasons and potential measures needed sustain talented passionate early career researchers academia.

Introducing Reactivity in Adaptive Hypertext Generation
Interaction with an adaptive hypertext can be seen as a form of "goal-oriented" dialogue, where the user asks for information through a set of predefined queries and the system answers by ensuring that the global communicative goal of the information process is achieved through a sequence of dialogue sections (hypermedia nodes). This is a planning problem, in which the system tries to develop a...
متن کاملIntroducing environmental constraints in generation expansion problems
Generation expansion planning problems should take into account not only satisfaction of future demand but also environmental constraints, such as government imposed limits on pollution produced by coal based power plants. For a vertically integrated system of power plants, we model those features as a two-stage stochastic programming problem with recourse that can be solved by decomposition me...
متن کاملService Science - Introducing Service Networks Performance Analytics
Although services are delivered across dispersed complex service eco-systems, monitoring performance becomes a difficult task. This paper explores a number of areas to support the development of service performance analytics within the discipline of service science. The paper provides a comprehensive account for the need to introduce modelling techniques to address the significant research void...
متن کاملIntroducing people knowledge into science learning
A weakness inherent in science education has been (and remains) its emphasis principally on the teaching of scientific knowledge, i.e. knowledge of the object (or the observed). Little attention has been directed to the teaching of people knowledge about scientists, i.e. knowledge of the subject (or the observer) who creates knowledge. This study explores the nature of this people knowledge and...
